jPCT for developing 2D games?

Hi,
I've had happy days using jPCT for developing 3D games and benchmarks. Now I need to develop a test 2D platform similar to a snake and ladder game. Shall I still consider jPCT for 2D games as well, or it is best customized as a 3D engine?

BTW, I will probably need a source code for an example snake and ladder game (or at least a board game) to start from and play around. Do we have a source code for such demo?

You can use it for 2D, but you might have to implement some additional stuff that other, dedicated 2D engines already offer. Anyway, here's a current example for desktop jPCT: http://www.jpct.net/forum2/index.php/topic,4396.0.html
