Title: Request for tutorial
Post by: Amoeba on December 27, 2005, 04:24:26 PM
I have been looking around for information for a while on converting the Quake 3 maps to 3ds that JPCT can understand.  So far ive been trying to follow your previous advice of GTK-Radiant gives the bsp,
q3bsp (found at http://home.snafu.de/hg/vrml/q3bsp/q3bsp.html ) converts the bsp to vrml.  The vrml was read by Deep Exploration ( http://www.righthemisphere.com/products/dexp/ ). Then saved the vrml as 3ds and it was read by any other 3ds software but whenever i load this 3ds file in jpct it just shows blackness/nothingness.  Any advice or tutorials on this from someone in the know would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

I always did it as mentioned in this thread: http://www.jpct.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75
It's basically what you did except that i'm adding an extra step to preserve the textures.
