SkyFrontier 3D
« on: April 19, 2011, 02:45:40 am »
Hello!
some months ago I posted here about a game called "Freddy Budgett", that I made for a computer engineering undergraduate work. Then, I started to work on a brand new game, and I used this great API again to help me on the 3D development. The game is "SkyFrontier 3D", based on the classic SkyRoads for PC.
I want to thanks a lot all people here in the forum, and EgonOlsen, who made an incredible work on jPCT.

Link to Android Market, please rate there ;D:

There is a very nice video-review of SkyFrontier 3D on SmartKeitai channel, check it out:

I like it albeit i totally suck in this kind of games. This one is better than the usually ones because it's more forgiving. You don't have to follow an exact path to get through. I also like the option to buy the full version ingame. That should improve sales IMHO.
Maybe adding some particles at the exhausts of the ship will improve it's look.
One last thing that i've noticed (but i don't think that this is related to the game): After playing it once, my SMS/MMS-shortcut on the desktop was re-routed to the game. A reboot of the phone fixed the problem.
I'll add it to the projects page later if you don't mind.

Thanks! ;D
I'll be glad to have this game on the projects page. ;)
Currently I am working on a screen for the calibration of sensors, and other small details. Also, liked the idea of particles, I'll take a look at that.

Added it to the projects page. Sensor calibration sounds like a good thing, because the ship jitters a little bit on my phone. No real problem though.

Where is it gone? At least for me, it doesn't show up in the market anymore... ???

Seems to be back now. The brighter ambient light helps a lot and makes the game more playable...however, sound is lost somehow for me...!?

yeah! ;D SkyRoads is a game released in 1993, for PC.
I uploaded v1.3b of SkyFrontier 3D, there are some nice changes, including better textures, take a look.
About the sound, I dont know what happened  ???, try disabling and enabling it again on the options menu.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi,

I was just checking out other project and I found this, which I had downloaded previously. I think I saw it in the trending apps.

You made a very good work with the graphics, but when I played it I found it too frustrating (maybe it is just me sucking at this type of games) but it took me ages to go through the 3rd screen.

Nice work!
