What do people think about Google buying Motorola's...

...cell phone division? Is that great for Android? Could it lead to the (in my opinion very bad) decision of maintaining it only on their hardware? Or if not anything that drastic, perhaps just worse control over other people's implementations?

My gut feeling tells me, that this is a good thing for Android. Google's business model is all about advertising...it doesn't make any sense for them to push their current partners out of the market but taking it over with Motorola. Consider what would happen if Apple would sell licenses of iOS to third parties...would there be devices from other companies that run on iOS? I think so! And considering that Android is actually free, i don't see why third party companies should stop making Android based phones.

Well, i think  this is a new phase in android progress. And make sense for third party manufactures go further, and making more qualitative products. i mean hardware.
