Geforce 4 and opengl
« on: October 29, 2005, 07:52:22 am »
Hi, I recently formated my PC, and I downloaded the most recent drivers for my MSI GForce 4 MX 440 Starforce and I notices that when rendering with opengl it takes almost 2 seconds for each thread iteration, it was awful, at first I thought that was my fault in the code, but when running the fps example it happened again.

I know that jpct offers opengl rendser using lwjgl, and I am not sure if you are able to fix this, but I may to tell that the most recent driver for all GForce and tnt cards are not well suported.

I dont know about GForce FX and Geforce 6 series.

Java (NOT Lwjgl itself) is having problems with forcing AntiAliasing for Direct3D in the drivers on some (most?) machines. On ATI cards, this results in crashes or black screens. On NVidia cards, it results in very jerky behaviour. Please check if you are forcing AA in the driver settings.

Well, the problem is about my video card driver and opengl. I neither can play games with the opengl render. Not only having the problems when using java, but also when playing in opengl. I tried to download an older version of them, but there are not avaible.

Have a look here: http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/treiber-geforce-w2k.php
It's a german site but driver numbers should be international...

Thanks, I noticed that it was not the driver by itself, because non of that drivers worked, but was a problem with windows. I recently formated my PC, and instaled new drivers and all is perfect.
