That topic is actually out of the scope of the engine. The engine renders into any gl context that you create. How you combine that with other gui elements is up to you. The engine doesn't prevent you from doing it in any way nor does it promote it. You should be able to find some examples that combine gl output with gui elements on Android and they will work with jPCT-AE too.
