What 3D modeller best to user?
« on: July 18, 2006, 11:39:19 am »
Hello,

what 3d modelling software do you use to create animated 3d modells?

Are there alternatives to 3d studio max?

Would it be a good idea to use 3d studio max? What plugins would be helpful to minimize the effort of creating animated 3d modells?

best regards,

Christian.

Hello, Well I always use 3D Studio Max because its the best on e from those I have.

I tried Maya but is not easy to begin.

Anyway onece I used a very good, easy and powerfull software but unfortunatelly I couldnt find it again to use it, its name is Strata Studio Pro 2.53 (different from just Strata).

The are versions for MAC and PC, If you can get it I recomend you to use it.

Anyway if you are lookimg for a free 3d editor you can try Blender.

You can also use autocad for doing 3d models and later export them to 3d studio max for the texturing.

I use Rhino3D for modelling, 3D Studio for tweaking, lowering polygon count and texturing, and Misfit3D for animation... I really like all three software because they are easy to use. Poser is not a bad program to use at all, but I feel that with "ease of use", you lose a lot of control and flexibility.

Simply, less effort is less result.
