I am working on Speech Bubbles, selection planes, and hovering names.

Currently, I am working on the selection planes.
I am using a single quad plane with a texture assigned.

I plan to get the angle of the contact with the ground like so:

- Cast ray directly down Y axis to find ground, if any.
- Create 4 vectors that make a small quad shape around the point found in last step.
- Perform ray casting and averaging as shown in the car example.
- Set rotation matrix of the plane.

I will post screenshots in a little while;)

EDIT:
Anyone got a better idea about this?
I am referring to a green circle I wish to draw at the feet of a selected player model.

It is fake for now, but it I have some ideas.

First idea is to capture a render of the entire map at load time, and scale it proportionately. That way, the center of
the minimap is 0,0,0, and your position can be found by a mere division.

The second is to just draw it roughly and to the same trick.

The second is probably better, because I plan to use a lot of underground complexes;)

The method used in your examples, with the vislist is interesting too, but isnt quite what I plan.

I was going to do a simple "fog of war" on the map, but it would be screenshotted quite quickly, and made available by other players, so I seen no point:).

Oh, I should have told you about that too:).

The performance drops quite significantly with it enabled.
I am running Ubuntu Edgy Linux.

Still, I'm going to use it:)

Fantastic little monster too;)

Its not a great screenshot, because some of the gui is not on, and I haven't set up lights
in the scene.
Still, I looks half decent for now.

Thank you for offering to do this;)

Ah, I understand now:).

I think I can manage that...later.
Prioritizing is good:).

You know, I do have some screenshots, but they are not great.
Heck, I'm sure I can give you better ones in a few days to replace them.

Hello, I am slightly confused with collision detection.

I can get it working, but the movement seems a little unrealistic.

I mean, my character is able to walk up a rock face that is at a very steep slope.
Is there anything I can do about this?

I noticed it, and changed it yesterday. It just looks like a slight bug in the convertor.

The url tag still works.

Hmm, I think there are free ones kicking about nowadays.

There is even Java VM for Palm OS 5 and higher.

My Sony Clie is on Palm OS 5, and it has 3d acceleration:P I would like to
think it had an FPU too, or the graphics chip would be wasted a bit:)

My old host did that too Egon:).

I think they only enabled it for scripts with .php5 extension.
I would have thought upgrading, and potentially breaking the websites of their customers was a bad thing to do.
It would certainly have killed my game a few months back, when I used them.

I could have sworn it was an old version, but I know which forum I was thinking about now:).

It is nice. I just found the themes:)
