My objects from 3ds are coming upside down. I tried adding a box and aligning it to center then attaching and deleting. Im guessing this is cause of the coordinate system. Is this the same for everyone, do you just rotate your models before exporting them?

I thought I would start off by going through the wiki on the jpct. I managed to get the first box working here is a screenshot.

Let me know if anyone needs help with getting the hello world one to work.

Support / some questions

1.) I searched on google and I couldnt find it anywhere. What does it mean to serialize a mesh? ???

2.) in the source of the simple demo there is no thread made to draw the graphics (game loop), is the ondrawframe automatically run in a different thread?

3.) I keep on getting out of memory when trying to load the 3ds object. What should be a good number of polygons for a model to use in an android game?

I heard that 2.2 was supposed to end the fragmentation and bring most of the phones up to speed. No idea but nexus one is safe for sure  ;D

I think I saw a while back of how its possible to use camera tracking if you print out a page, then it will look like the object is sitting on the page. Any idea how to do that  :D :D

Bones / Re: Bones - Skeletal and Pose animations for jPCT

Is it usable in games now?
yes, on desktop definetely it is :D try ogre3d exporter (ogremax) for max. on Android, Bones suffers performance which is kind of expectable because of dalvik vm and -moderately- heavy matrix calculations :-\

Hopefully they are going to have some major improvements to the dalvik vm with the next android version (froyo).

Is it usable in games now? I dont know what most of you all are talking about here  ;D, but I do know how to use a biped in 3ds max and was hoping it would work for games eventually.

any chance of an apk demo. I saw the test app on the android page and was amazed. I like to see the possibilities of the phone. I'm still learning making basic android applications, hopefully then I can dive into some graphics.

it took me a while to figure out, maybe you should put something about it on the registration page

there is also another way in smf where you can wait for administrator to approve all registrations, even though it would make it a lot more tedious.
